Fibroblast Growth FactorAcidic (aFGF), also known as FGF1, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF acidic is a potent mitogenic agent for a wide variety of

mesodermderived cells including BALB/c 3T3 fibroblasts, capillary and endocardial endothelial cells, myoblasts, vascular smooth muscle cells, mesothelial cells, glial cells, and

adrenal cortex cells. It has a wide range of biological effects and potential clinical applications.FGF acidic has the ability of binding to heparin. And heparin potentiates the actions

of aFGF as well as its stability against high temperature, extreme pH degeneration and hydrolysis.

Rh-aFGF is a a single and nonglycosylated polypeptide chain containing 141 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 16 kDa expressed by E. coli.
